Abstract

People in Tanjungbalai City usually check the initial symptoms of ENT disease at the Tanjungbalai General Hospital. This makes it possible to increase the workload of experts on duty at Tanjungbalai General Hospital to diagnose a patient who is thought to be suffering from ENT so that an expert system is needed that can assist in problem solving. Initial examinations carried out at Tanjungbalai General Hospital make patients have to queue, so it can take time. Patients also have to pay a consultation fee with specialist doctors at Tanjungbalai General Hospital to just find out the initial symptoms of the illness. ENT specialist doctors in the Tanjungbalai City area are also very limited. The location between Tanjungbalai General Hospital and the house was an obstacle in the initial examination. As a result, many people do not know clearly the type of disease they suffer from and how to treat it. Because this ENT disease is closely related to organs where if not treated immediately, it will be difficult to carry out daily activities. Data on patients with ENT patients at Tanjungbalai General Hospital increases every year. Overcoming this problem requires an expert system using the Case Based Reasoning (CBR) method. The programming language used in this research is PHP and MySQL database. The expert system for diagnosing ENT diseases using the web-based Case Based Reasoning (CBR) method can provide information about the symptoms and solutions of the disease suffered by the patient. This system can help doctors work and make it easier for patients to solve problems because they know the results are quite close to the possibilities that occur as well as prevention efforts.
